Our History

Steve Goulet founded Blue Sphere Solutions, LLC in 1999 after earning his MA in Psychology from Western Michigan University. His research at WMU included a specialization in Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) for use in mental health assessment. His early consulting responsibilities included building a clinical information system for psychiatric nurses, case workers and psychologists.

In 2000, Blue Sphere began providing online registration systems for Grand Connection. As a provider of corporate event management for several large West Michigan companies, Grand Connection became an important part of Blue Sphere’s future. Through a strategic partnership with Grand Connection, Blue Sphere began providing application development services for Steelcase, Herman Miller, Gordon Food Service, and several other West Michigan companies.

In August of 2001, Steve formed a partnership with Chris Hashley, who had previously formed his own company, Hashley Intermedia. Through Hashley InterMedia, Chris had provided e-commerce software consulting for Corning in Corning, New York, and had also consulted for several other companies in Lansing, Grand Rapids, and Chicago.

The momentum was unstoppable as Chris and Steve joined forces to incorporate Blue Sphere. Chris added a great deal of financial and technical expertise to the company. He had majored in Finance at DePaul University in Chicago, and was considered an ecommerce guru. As a team, Chris and Steve were able to build the infrastructure, talent base, and reputation to take Blue Sphere to the next level.

Blue Sphere formally joined forces with Microsoft in 2004 when the company achieved Microsoft Certified Partner status in the Business Process and Integration Solutions Competency. In early 2006, Blue Sphere added another Microsoft competency: Networking Infrastructure Solutions. In April of 2006 Blue Sphere achieved Microsoft Gold Partner status.
