Grand Rapids, MI – Friday, November 09, 2007
Vice President and Senior Developer Chris Hashley of the firm Blue Sphere Solutions, Inc. has been chosen as one of “40 Under 40” Young Business Leaders of West Michigan, by the Grand Rapids Business Journal. Chris is in the group of “newcomers” who are making a mark in their business and in their community with their commitment to excellence. In 2001, Chris, then principal of consulting firm Hashley Intermedia, partnered with Steve Goulet of the two-year-old Blue Sphere. Blue Sphere has since created software applications for some of West Michigan’s most respected companies.
Using what Hashley calls “smart shoring”, Blue Sphere has provided companies in Silicon Valley, New York, and other technology centers an alternative to offshore outsourcing: The talent rich, lower- cost consulting services available in West Michigan. Last year the company experienced 96 percent year-over- year growth. In addition to his technical responsibilities, Hashley is responsible for managing Blue Sphere finances. He recently implemented a performance based bonus system, new quality controls, and project management systems.
Earlier this year, Chris was nominated for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, along with Steve Goulet, President of Blue Sphere. Steve and Chris were recognized for their technical leadership and their ability to overcome adversity.
